With a background as a singer and experience navigating the complexities of a music management contract, Juliana’s passion for the music business and entertainment industry led to the establishment of the JIIPCC entities. She initiated a complimentary DIY course on copyright registration in Nigeria, produced 100s of educational content online, spoke at creative events, engaged in advocacy
programs, and provided pro-bono legal services.
Juliana actively participated in company registrations for creatives, copyright and trademark registrations, contract drafting, review and negotiation for creatives, composer and music publishing registrations, secured sync deals, and founded a record label, showcasing her commitment to the creative industry and empowering individuals within it.
Her desire to give back resulted in the creation of a free mentorship program spanning 10 African countries, highlighting her dedication to talent development. Over three years, Juliana has mentored over 600 university students and young professionals through the JIIPCC Mentorship and Internship Programme, firmly believing in the transformative impact of mentorship on the future of the creative industry.
Juliana Imam’s quarterly Mentorship and Internship Programmes serve as a beacon for students, young practitioners, startups, and enthusiasts across Africa. These initiatives provide unparalleled access to professional advice, training, networking opportunities, mentorship, internships, and valuable resources. Juliana aims to foster continuous education, training, development, innovation, creativity, and evolution not only in Nigeria and Africa but also globally.
Juliana’s internship experience with the World Intellectual Property Organization Nigeria Office broadened her perspectives, providing invaluable insights into the developmental, policy, and economic dimensions of the entertainment industry as she planned programs for creatives and made presentations on relevant topics within the scope of copyright, music, films, record labels, gaming, women in IP, and intellectual property awareness at distinguished platforms.
In her consultancy role with the WIPO Academy as the Women and Youth Project Assistant, she assists with customization of intellectual property distance learning courses for counties, IP training for women, IP4Youth and Teachers Projects and course administration.
